For me, the Bay of Islands is all about being out on the water, the bays, the channels, the inlets, the beaches, and the harbours. There is nothing like sitting in the cockpit of a yacht, watching the sun slip quietly down below the horizon after a day or more out exploring our beautiful Bay of Islands.
There are around 140 islands scattered in this compact cruising ground with beautiful anchorages to protect you from any wind direction. Distances are short. You can choose one stunning location for lunch and another for dinner and an overnight haven.
